For the border Approximately 3/4 yard of "Dark One" for borders. You may choose two different colors for the borders. This will require a 1/4 yard cut and a 1/2 yard cut of different fabrics. Special Cutting Instructions: You will notice that, after the size given for blocks, a notation of (once) or (twice) is given. This refers to cuts made across the diagonal of a square. The diagrams below should make this more clear:  
Options: Want a scrappy look? This quilt is a great candidate for using small pieces from your stash as long as you choose colors in the same family. For instance - dark blues for Dark One, dark reds for Dark Two, medium browns for medium one, and medium golds for medium two. The background may also be mutilple fabrics in the same light color family.
