The Carrot Top Quilt by Auntie for Quiltzine

Click here to download the EQ5 Project File for the Carrot Top Quilt Loosely based on Linda Faiola's "Miracle Grow" quilt featured on page 142 of Carole Gariepy's book - Quilt of America - Auntie's version of the Carrot can be paper pieced.

There are five blocks in this project file, you simply flip them to get the mirror image that makes up the carrot.

I have thought of many ways to make this block really outstanding - using textured fabrics for the carrot and leafy top, turning some of the triangles into zippered pocket for treasures - perhaps just plain pockets that you could use to hold seed packets given as a gift.

I had a lot of fun designing this quilt. And, for the first time, you will need to download the EQ5 file in order to get the pattern.
