The Carrot Top Quilt by Auntie for Quiltzine

Loosely based on Linda Faiola's "Miracle Grow" quilt featured on page 142 of Carole Gariepy's book - Quilt of America - Auntie's version of the Carrot can be paper pieced.

There are five blocks in this project file, you simply flip them to get the mirror image that makes up the carrot.

I have thought of many ways to make this block really outstanding - using textured fabrics for the carrot and leafy top, turning some of the triangles into zippered pocket for treasures - perhaps just plain pockets that you could use to hold seed packets given as a gift.

I had a lot of fun designing this quilt. And, for the first time, you will need to download the EQ5 file in order to get the pattern.
