Chapter Three

Block D - Make Four

Divide the block into quarters for easy construction.

Upper left and lower right corners:



*  Sew B3 and B1 together, press.
*  Sew the four small squares together as shown in Block D diagram.
*  Lower left corner: on the wrong side of X1, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner.
*  Place this square on top of C3 as shown in Figure 1.
*  Stitch on the line and trim leaving &#frac14;" seam allowance.
*  Piece the four quarters together.

Block E - Make Four




*  This block is constructed the same as Block D.
*  The only change is color placement.
